Academic Enrichment

CKC is an early childhood education center focused on helping families raise children rooted in faith, growing in kindness, and learning through everyday experiences.

Education

We strive to provide age-appropriate equipment and activities to support the developmental needs of every child in our center. Each age group will receive individual attention, with a balance of cooperative group activities and independent play. Our program includes both structured learning and free play, fostering growth in all areas.

Outdoor play is an essential part of our daily routine for all children, including infants, except in cases of inclement weather. Lead teachers will create and follow thoughtfully planned lesson plans tailored to each age group, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging learning experience.

Music Mondays with Granny Sue

Every Monday morning, we are blessed to have Granny Sue from our very own Crossroads Church join us for a special time of music and joy! She loves to share the love of Jesus through song, and the children have an absolute blast singing and dancing along with her.

We are so grateful for local volunteers like Granny Sue and for the support of our church family, who help make CKC a place filled with faith, love, and learning.

Friday Storytime with Mrs. Megan

We are thrilled to partner with the Johnson Creek Public Library to bring the joy of reading into our classrooms! Every Friday, Ms. Megan visits CKC to read a few stories to each class, often bringing a fun craft or activity that matches the weekly theme. She also provides a bin of books for us to borrow, helping enrich our lesson plans while saving on costs—something we are incredibly grateful for!

This partnership is just one way we connect with our community and support early literacy. If your child loves story time, be sure to check out the Johnson Creek Public Library's many events for kids of all ages throughout the week!

Our center utilizes Conscious Discipline which is an approach that emphasizes the importance of adult self-regulation in modeling and teaching children effective emotional management and conflict resolution. It focuses on building empathy in children and setting clear expectations for what they should do while providing them with guidance to avoid negative actions. Conscious Discipline teaches adults to regulate their emotions so that they can help kids to do the same. Learn more here: Parent Education Program - Conscious Discipline Parent Curriculum
