Meet our Staff

Our staff members are handpicked by our administrative team and have undergone a careful background check, taken multiple certified training courses and have an early childhood education certificate. Each lead teacher provides lesson plans that include all areas of our learning program, encourage loving and accepting peer relationships among the children, and enhance their learning in a motivating and enriching environment.

HEATHER RAABE

Youth Ministries Director

Hi! I have worked with children in the childcare field, the Johnson Creek school district, and youth groups since 2000.

I am married with 3 children who keep me busy with various activities, especially sports. We also have 2 dogs and 3 cats. My favorite things to do are read, ride our motorcycle with my husband, host parties so I can try new recipes, and play games so I can act like a kid.

My favorite part of my job is visiting classrooms to play with the kids or hear about their day. My goals include mentoring a new generation of teachers, providing unique care to the families in our community, and sharing Jesus with them all. I love God and know I was called by Him to love the kids in our community; so that is what I try to do every day, from cradle to college.

AMBER NELSON

Lead Infant Teacher

My name is Amber, and I am the co-lead infant teacher for your child. I have been working in the infant room for the past 5 months now. I have always wanted to work with children just never knew how or what I needed to accomplish to do so. I have a 6-year-old son who is my whole world. If I'm not at work, then I'm at home spending time with my son and fiancé. We love to watch our son play sports, and we also enjoy hunting together. The children in my class will always be treated equally and I would treat them just like they are my own.

Lead Ones Teacher

Hello! I am Miss Cynthia! My son and I live in Jefferson. I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom until my son started school. I've also worked at Starbucks and therefore love coffee.

I like going to the zoo and spending time outside in the summer. I do not like the cold. My favorite color is purple. I'm a foodie, but I hate vegetables.

Assistant Ones Teacher

Hello! I grew up in little ol’ Jefferson born and raised! I have a son, Dex, who is such a smart, loving, almost birthday twin, outdoors little boy! I was a CNA for 8 years before I decided it was time to take my love of caring and always learning to a younger generation. I couldn’t be more excited about this decision!  Outside of work I am a homebody. I love relaxing, playing games on my switch, watching movies, and cross stitching!

KAYLIN GRUNEWALD

Lead Twos Teacher

Hello! I have been teaching since 2023. I have taught children 18-month-olds to 2 years old, but I prefer two-year-olds. I enjoy teaching kids to count and have them learn through hands-on experiences. I am a little shy at first, however, once I get to know you, I will open up more. I love everything space and outdoors as well as going to Jefferson Speedway. I can’t wait to watch your children grow and learn right in front of our eyes. I look forward to learning more about the children, their routine, and the parents of the children I care for.

Three fun facts about me:

  1. I have a cat at home.

  1. My favorite animal is the squirrel.

  1. I find joy in teaching because it allows me to witness and support children as they achieve significant milestones in their lives, such as mastering potty training.

Hi, I am a senior at Johnson Creek High School and am excited for my first childcare experience. I'm one of five siblings and have a big family, so getting into childcare has always been important to me. I love kids and can't wait to learn more about working with them!
